What’s the best mattress for an ottoman bed?

As well as opting for a mattress that fits your bed frame, there are a few other things to consider when choosing a mattress for your ottoman bed.

As the ottoman frame will be lifting the mattress, we recommend a mattress that isn’t too heavy so it’s easy for the hydraulic system to raise, while keeping it securely in place.

Often, ottoman beds have a solid base rather than slats, so the mattress should be breathable to avoid moisture build-up, protecting your belongings in the storage space below.

Consider the mattress thickness too, as some ottoman beds have a depth limit within the frame to ensure the mattress fits properly and can close securely. If the mattress is too thick, it won’t close fully and can cause gaps around the edges.
